A Window Display at Gallery A3
Virtual Art Walk / Amherst Arts Night Plus

Encounters / Window Exhibition
After a long season of isolation under lockdown, we all crave contact. Before Gallery A3 resumes its regular exhibition schedule on the gallery walls, we are moving into a new mode, with an exhibition, ENCOUNTERS, installed on panels in the storefront window space during July 2020.
With a nod to Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the exhibit is not designed along extra-terrestrial lines. Some works emphasize human contact—like moments of personal connection we missed during the pandemic-induced lockdown, or images inspired by human confrontation emerging from protests of racial injustice, sparked by the murder of George Floyd. But many other encounters are metaphorical, magical, mystical, or imaginary.
