Opening / Amherst Arts Night Plus: Thursday, January 2, 5-8 pm
Forum / Artists In Community: Thursday, January 16, 7:30-8:30 pm
Artists In Community, is supported in part by a grant from the Amherst Cultural Council,
a local agency, supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
In the monochromatic gray depths of winter, Gallery A3 celebrates the vitality of color, with a group show by gallery artists.
While some of the artists work with saturated primary colors, concentrating on red, yellow, and blue, others work with a palette of subtly muted earth tones. While some build their work around the eye-popping interplay of complementary colors, others go for a small, single, strategic zing of color in the midst of black and white. And while some conjure chromatics that swing hot and jazzy, others lean towards the serenity of cooler hues and softer tones. Works include paintings, prints, photographs, collage, assemblage, and ceramic pieces.
Come enjoy the optic energy of COLOR! in its many variations.
