Mosaic Pool Series
Reorganizing my paintings this weekend, I unearthed a series of small water themed works.
My childhood encounter with a Sunfish under a public swimming dock one summer day came to mind. The fish and I made long careful observations about each other in the yellow- green light. It opened and closed its mouth processing oxygen. It was I who broke the spell needing some fresh air myself.
A life-time swimmer and on the middle-school swim and diving team, I’m my best self in water.
I paint with the hard edge of steel palette knives moving oil colors on canvas and wood.
