Gallery A3's 8th Annual Juried Show

Gallery A3 announces its 8th Annual Juried Show, on display from August 3 to September 2, 2023. “This year, for the first time, our Juried Show focuses on a theme,” noted exhibit co-coordinator Rebecca Muller. With the title of undercurrents: Art that Reveals the Underseen, the exhibit showcases art that illuminates the rarely seen and overlooked, reveals mysteries, or introduces us to new views of our natural world, human relationships, unknown histories, or crucial issues of today. The juror, Amanda Herman, is a multi-media artist and visual arts education curator at the University Museum of Contemporary Art (UMass). The art forum, led by Ms. Herman,  on August 17th will delve into the theme more deeply.

“Gallery A3’s Annual Juried Show offers local and regional artists an opportunity to exhibit their work in an active downtown Amherst gallery,” said co-coordinator Paula Hite, who recently joined the gallery after participating in the juried show for several years. “At the same time, it gives our western Massachusetts community a chance to discover artists who may be living just around the corner or working in a neighboring county or state,” added John Krifka, the third member of the Juried Show coordinating team, who also first engaged with the gallery through participation in juried shows.

The opening reception is on Thursday, August 3, from 5-8 pm and an Art Forum Online, free and open to the public, is scheduled for Thursday, August 17, at 7:30 pm.
